The government have recruited Mary Portas, TV's 'Queen of Shops', to assess Britain's high street and see if it has any chance of being revived.
The Lib Dem Election Manifesto 2010 called for several changes to the rules of new retail developments so perhaps Mary will take a look back over this long forgotten document?
